This is the first such automatic cat litter box I’ve tried, and I’m really appreciative of how much work it has eliminated for me every day. For one, I have an elderly cat that tends to not cover his #2s, and the smell thus permeates the place, and he ends up sometimes stepping in his mess if he loses his balance when going in again later on. This has created poo paw prints leading out of the litter box and encrusted litter poo paw, to my extreme horror. As this rotates after business has been done, the offending poos get cleaned up and sifted into the attached bag when I’m not around to clean it immediately (as I try to do when I’m home). If you have the same sort of situation as me with an older cat, then it’s worth it just in not having to clean surfaces that your cat gets onto (couch, chairs, bed—ugh!).The Smart aspects with the app are quite interesting too since I can track changes in bathroom habits for my old boy – it detects how often and when he goes. This is helpful for cat problems that sneak up on you like constipation or UTIs/blockages, as if you pay attention, you will notice something is up if they’re not going as often or staying in longer than usual (straining).The one thing I’m concerned about is the liner and whether it will need to be replaced and whether I’ll be able to source it when it may be needed. For now, that’s a future problem.Also, this is not like one of those horror death machines that can hurt cats, as the opening to the litter box never seals shut – it’s always open. The sensors will also prevent it from starting a cleaning cycle when a cat is in front of it or inside it.My method for switching to the automatic litter box was to put old litter in it to entice my older cat to give it a shot, and I let their old “manual” box remain unattractive to use, so he preferred to try the new, fresher litter cave. Some cats are more easily spooked or put off with changes, so it may take more than a day or two for some to get used to the new bathroom “reno”.

Here we have the Oxaa automatic cat litter box up for review. My review is based on having two cats 1 female domestic and 1 large male Mainecoon. Both cats would refuse to use the same litter box and we used to have to manually clean and empty two litter boxes daily which is very tiresome when you have kids in school and other things to do all the time. We decided we needed to find a solution and this has so far been a saving grace for us. Sizing wise I find it a little bit small for my big boy but he is okay and found a way to position himself while doing his thing. The technology and features this litter box has for ~$300 is unreal. It removes odours with UV lights when the cats aren’t present of course. It has a cat sensing sensor on the front so it knows when a cat is nearing or getting ready to enter. It works with the Tuya app which is nice because I already have other humidifiers in the home that use the same app. The app is very easy to use and allows you to choose automatic cleaning and set the time intervals. It also allows you to set the clumping time before it goes through the cleaning cycle. I like that it has a change litter option which we do once every 2 weeks to keep the litter fresh. This cycle empties all the litter and so you can start filling up the box with new litter. Attaching and removing the bags is very easy and can be done in 1-2 min. It also has a manual touch pad that you can manually trigger the functions if you don’t want to use the app, or if you are emptying it and don’t want to take out your phone. I like that the little touchpad has an indicator that tells you when the bag needs to be replaced because it’s full. Again the convenience is just awesome and I can just glance at the litter box when passing by and I’ll know if the bag needs replacing or not. The frequency in which you need to replace the bag really depends on your cats. Since I have two cats and one is huge l, I find myself emptying the bags every 3 days. I think it would last a week or maybe more if you have a regular sized cat and just 1 cat. Cleaning the inner barrel is the most challenging part and needs to be done every now and then. It is removable so that helps when cleaning the interior. Overall, I think this automatic cat litter box is amazing and I wish I had known about these types of litter boxes sooner. Well, in my defence I knew they existed but I thought they like $700-$1000 so knowing this is a few dollars less than $300 I think that’s worth it and makes it more manageable.

This litter box is very sturdy and feels high-end. Setup was straightforward — even though the instructions recommend 2.4G WiFi, it connected to my 5G without any problem.The only thing is that filling or replacing litter can be a bit of a hassle since the box of litter is heavy and you have to squat down to pour it in. It’s not as convenient as a traditional litter box in that sense.Overall, the quality is excellent and I’m happy with the purchase, but I’d give it 4 stars because of the litter handling.

I am very happy with this automatic litter box. At first my cat was a bit nervous to use but she has not had a problem since she has been using it. This is also something that you can also control with an app on your phone too. I found out in order to use the app that I would need special plugs as the app will not work with a regular plug in. Is is worth the money yes it is less maintenance than a regular litter box.

This is a very well-designed automatic litter box with lots of thoughtful features, but fair warning: if your cats are picky (like mine), there may be an adjustment period.The unit itself feels solid and well built, and it runs very quietly when cycling. The safety features are reassuring, and I like that it has multiple sensors to prevent it from operating when a cat is nearby or inside. The app is a nice bonus and provides useful info like usage notifications and weight tracking, though the box is still perfectly usable without relying heavily on the app. Odor control has been good so far, and cleanup looks like it’ll be much easier compared to traditional litter boxes. I also appreciate that it works with standard clumping litter and doesn’t lock you into proprietary refills. At around $350, this definitely isn’t cheap, but compared to other automatic litter boxes that can cost $800–$1,000+, the price feels reasonable for the features and build quality you’re getting. That said, my cats have been slow to warm up to it and still prefer their old litter boxes for now. This isn’t really a fault of the product. Cats can just be stubborn, but it’s something worth keeping in mind. I’d recommend leaving it unplugged at first and letting your cats get used to it gradually. Overall, I’m happy with the quality, safety features, and quiet operation. If your cats adapt to it, this could be a big quality-of-life upgrade.

If you're reading this you're smart enough to know a seriously good thing when you see it! My kitten had zero problems using it on adoption day, and it's amazing. Clean up is so easy, it's surprisingly quiet. Love the weight feature! I didn't think it could be accurate but had a weight done at the vet today and it's spot on. If you have a kitten this is the way to go 100%. Just be sure to keep the kitten out while it's cleaning the first few times to train them to stay out (safety feature stops it midway through working and can be rotated sideways with no litter at the bottom, but it starts up again when they leave. Also smart enough to stop when the cat's on top of the barrel.)

Okay I know how it sounds calling something that costs $300 "entry-level", but compared to the bigger and more well-known brands for this type of thing, like say, the Litter Robot, which would set you back $950+... This absolutely IS an entry-level automatic litter box. And even compared to other off-brand (and make no mistake, this is ALSO absolutely an off-brand) automatic litter boxes of this general style and configuration this is on par or slightly less expensive.Now, because it was MY biggest concern with this, the safety of this litter box is going to be the main focus of my review. And the first concern I had, I addressed before I even ordered it, which is that, based on the pictures (and having now seen/used it in-person) there did not appear to be any moving parts that my 2 cats could get stuck on, in, or hurt by. PASS.The only (visible) moving part on this is the drum/barrel of the box itself, and that only moves during the cleaning cycle, at a very slow speed. It is turned by a gear wheel on the back, which the barrel slots into, and the motor is concealed somewhere within the plastic of the base.

Easy pop open top allows you to get at the bags to change when full.The unit uses clever algorithms to advance the drum. When first started, it moves the drum back and forth to distribute the litter evenly. There's a line at the back to show the proper level so you don't over or under fill it.We use the usual dustless litter since this unit isn't designed for the paper style or other lightweight litter.The front panel controls are convenient and the app allows you to observe and control the unit.A nice feature is the added ionizer that runs for a time after use or when triggered by the app.

This product arrived 2 days later via Amazon Prime and was packaged in large cardboard box.PROS-I was not quite sure what to expect as this type of product was completely unknown to me but set up was actually really easy.-First of all, I really like how this looks, it gives me mini cement mixer vibes :)-There is a smartphone app for this product that is quite intuitive to use.-The design and construction is solid without anything feeling cheap or flimsy.-Most importantly, this works very well and I can see this saving someone a lot of time and energy performing a less than desirable task with minimal effort.-So even though the original price of $295 CAD has been raised to $330, I think this is well worth the investment if indeed you cat can be retrained to use this product.CONS-This is completely a "me" problem because there is nothing wrong with this product in that it works as intended but our cat is terrified to use this, even after 3 months of leaving it out for him.-The app is easy to use, but an additional step for older individuals who may be less than tech savvy. I offered the unit to my mom who is in her 70's and she declined because she is fed up with remote controls, phone apps, LED lights, etc. on most modern appliances.-Obviously you need to consider a power source for this product which could affect where you place this item, which may take some adjustment time for your cats if they have been used to a preexisting setup.

Not all of our cats liked using it but after watching our more fearless one use it, they fell in line.Auto units are a great addition for cat owners - especially those that have multiple cats and need to clean the little regularly.

This is actually a really cool litter box. Self cleaning though? Well, I’d say yes about 80-85% correct. Eventually you will still have to empty out the litter and wipe down the interior and try cleaning the whole unit. The other thing I wish was a little better is the time it takes when completing a cleaning cycle. Although to be honest, I don’t really notice it all that much because it’s in my basement. That said, the functionality of this unit is super thoughtful and it does work for the most part. There have been some clumps that get stuck to the bottom of the tray and don’t get rolled into the collection bin right away, but eventually they do. It’s a good idea to empty the tray every few days or a week at max so you don’t run into issues perhaps with opening the tray or unwanted odours, although neither have happened to me, it is a concern of mine. I would honestly recommend this unit if you’re looking for a much cleaner and easier method to look after your cats litter.

if unplugged all the settings get reset, the censor is good but gets blocked if you get any kind of litter step so you have to stick to a little mat in front of it. have had issues with response of app not working from time to time. cat loves to tear off the litter sifter wall inside the robot so have to keep watching for that since he can pull it off easily enough. Odor is really great, only really smell it when changing the litter bag, does slightly spill out the front when cleaning cycles are going but nothing too bad that a mat cant catch, no issues with any of my cats getting scared from it and its super quiet that I barely notice it running outside the sound of stuff shifting inside it. super easy to take apart and clean.

As someone with three cats, I was very intrigued to try this out and see how they would like it. Our older one is still getting used to it; it’s hard for her to get in and out so we need to supervise when we she she enters the room and decides to use it. The younger two are OK with it and don’t seem to have too many issues with the sounds that it makes. The sound of the drum churching our the clumps is quite minimal and sometimes I even forget it’s there. Although I did measure, I still underestimated how big this self-cleaning litter box is. Luckily, if it’s in our spare room with no issues. As others have mentioned, it is a bit difficult to fill up with litter, but once it’s up and running, it cleans itself quite well. It did take the cats some time to get used to it but then once they figured out it stops moving when they enter it they have had no issues using it. I like that I can control it with the app and it notifies me when it needs the liner changed. I didn’t like though that it wasn’t a designated app for the brand, but it was shared with other litter box companies. Nevertheless, if you have multiple cats and they’re constantly needing to use the litter, this might be an option for you to get. The set up was also quite easy and it’s great knowing that the sensor stops the movement once a cat enters onto the little box.

This automatic cat litter box is wonderful and keeping cat odours down. You download an app, which is wonderful because it shows you every time a cat uses the box. Also the weight of your cat. The product itself is very well-made and durable however, I’m still unsure what type of litter to use. All three of my cats were hesitant using this for the first time. The entrance is fairly small in my larger guy barely fits. This is not in perfect product for $300. You may want to consider it before you purchase it.

I am over the moon with this smart litter box. Since having our daughter, I have been struggling to make sure I have time to scoop the box every day without drawing the attention of my curious toddler to it. When I was given the opportunity to test this one out and noticed it did not have a closing feature (which can be a concern for pet parents) I jumped at the opportunity.I’ve been using this as our cats only litter box for about 3 weeks and have had zero issues or complaints. She is very small- about 7lbs and full grown- and the infrared sensor has no problems detecting her. The box is very quiet, and allows you to set the clumping time for your litter- although I find the default 3 minutes has worked fine for us. It cleans after every use in automatic mode after the clumping time has expired. It doesn’t make any beeps or obnoxious noises. The app is easy to use but is NOT necessary for operation. You can put a child lock on the button panel via the app to ensure that little hands or furry paws don’t press buttons to change the mode.It notifies me when the bag needs to be changed, and it is super easy to do. Because it cleans and deodorizes after every use, and bags anything that is left behind in the litter, there is NO odour- which i definitely appreciate. I was worried that my cat would be nervous of it, as she can be pretty jumpy, but she actually has grown to enjoy watching it clean after use. It only took her about 3 days to completely switch over from her old box- which is super impressive. I will admit that the inside isn’t overly spacious- so this probably isnt the best choice for large breed or oversized cats, but for us, this has been a dream come true.

So normally I follow a different, more streamlined format for reviews, this one is going to be a bit different. I had the opportunity to receive this litter box and thought "Sure, why not? I can't afford the other fancy brands anyways." When it comes to items like this for my cats, I am EXTREMELY skeptical. I've heard horror stories about self-cleaning / automatic litter boxes and I take no chances when it comes to my cats. I'll be honest when I say I went in with low expectations.I initially set this up in my living room (gross, I know) just because I wanted to be around to supervise things and ensure there was no chance of putting their safety at risk. I read through the entire manual, which is absolutely necessary, before starting it up. My first setback was using the Catit Natural Litter which was NOT compatible (and is, indeed, indicated as such within the manual, so this was my bad). I changed it to regular clay litter and booted it up for a run-thru.To acclimate my cats, I left the whole unit unplugged for a day or so and treated it as a normal litter box. Once I knew they were using it, I then plugged it in to test its self-cleaning abilities. The first thing I noticed was how they is almost no chance of a fully grown cat getting injured while using this. It states in the manual that small kittens (and I think pregnant females) should not use this, which makes. But otherwise, as you can see from my gloriously edited 720p video, it's simply a drum that spins and sifts. There are adjustable settings for timing, if you're using a litter that needs more time to clump, for example. Once everyone got used to it and I was satisfied it wasn't going to cause any injuries, it got moved to the basement where it's been working great ever since.The connected app notifies you ("Report to Master" - haha) when your cat is in it and as it goes through the cleaning cycles. It also measures the weight of the cat and the total time spent in the unit, which I thought is a cool feature.Here are some important notes:- This should go without saying, but this is a corded electric unit and you will need an outlet nearby.- This is designed for more traditional clumping litter.- I am not sure about functionality without the app, but to take advantage of all the features, you do require it.- Remember that it will be a bit of a learning curve for your cats.- The size is a bit deceiving. It doesn't look huge, but it comfortably fits my nearly 15lb boy while he is doing his business.My last comment will be that after watching several videos, this litter box appears to have seemingly the exact same technology as the well-known, very expensive brands for a third to a quarter of the price. I had considered using this one until I could justify saving up for one of those, but now I actually think the opposite; I am strongly considering getting a second of this brand which I truly thought I wouldn't say.Overall, this product vastly exceeded my expectations. Each star I am giving it is well deserved.
